Want your compression socks to last as long as possible? How often should you be washing your compression stockings? Read on to learn more about washing your Bauerfeind compression socks and stockings to keep them in top condition.

Should I hand wash or machine wash my compression stockings?

To make your compression stockings last a long time, it’s best to wash them by hand. Look inside the top of the stocking, and you’ll find a label with instructions on how to wash them. It will also have the name of the product, the size, and who made it. If your stockings were custom-made just for you, the label will have your name on it instead of the CE mark, and it will say L for left or R for right.

Don’t put your compression stockings near heat sources like heaters, direct sunlight, or in your car! This could damage the elastic compression fibres, which can impair the effectiveness of your compression stockings.

How often should compression stockings be washed?

Similar to any undergarment, compression stockings and socks should be changed and washed after each use. Washing allows the fabric to regain its original elasticity. If you’ve skipped a wash, you may notice that your compression socks no longer stay up and keep slipping down.
