A. Compression socks and stockings: Compression socks of 20 mmHg or higher (medical grade) should be prescribed by a physician. A physician will be able to assess if you have any contraindications to the use of compression socks. All Bauerfeind compression socks are 20 mmHg or higher.
Orthopedic braces (ex. knee brace): No referral or prescription is necessary to purchase an orthopedic brace, but there are advantages to having a physician prescription:
1. If you wish to submit your orthopedic brace purchase as a claim to your insurance provider, they usually require a physician’s prescription.
2. The purchase of an orthopedic brace is zero-rated (no tax) when supplied on the written order of a medical practitioner. For more information, please see the Medical and Assistive Devices publication by the Canada Revenue Agency.

A. *Please note: We are not the manufacturers of the Bauerfeind products we sell, but we will do our best to facilitate warranty claims between the purchaser and Bauerfeind Canada.
Bauerfeind Canada warrants that all goods will be free from manufacturing defects for a period of 30 days for orthopedic braces and compression products. Normal wear and tear, or damage due to misuse of the product is not considered a defect. Products that have been altered, cut, or modified in any way will nullify the warranty.
